Early Childhood Journalism Handbook
Effective reporting on early childhood issues strengthens advocacy both during humanitarian crises and in their aftermath. It helps draw attention to overlooked contexts and humanitarian hotspots, while highlighting the distinct needs of young children and their caregivers. This handbook is intended for journalists covering early childhood in crisis settings. It builds on lessons learned from published reports developed through collaboration between the Moving Minds Alliance and the Reporters for Early‑Age Children in Humanitarian Crises (REACH) Network. These reports identify strengths, gaps, and recurring challenges in media coverage, offering practical insights for journalists worldwide.
